DESCRIPTION:  \n\nOver 100 million Americans have medical debt\, including 740\,000 New Yorkers. Every hospital in NY State is required to offer financial assistance to people who make as much as 4 times the poverty level\, and some hospitals are even more generous. (That’s $62\,600 for an individual\, and $128\,600 for a family of 4)  But surveys show that two-thirds of consumers do not know. Assistance applies to both uninsured and underinsured people\, regardless of immigration status. Rose Gasner and Aviva Goldstein will be offering a workshop to show you how to take advantage of this program with tips and tricks that can reduce or even eliminate your debt to hospitals.
